Great trip with awesome scenery and company. The second snapper in from the right had to be Northlands dumbest fish - I swam into a nice open bowl and after watching a 2kg fish for a while I noticed this big boy up a bit and hard against the ledge. Duck dived down parallel to the fish as quietly and smoothly as possible as being in full view of it I thought it would bolt. It didn't move and amazingly, let me skim over and down the weed straight towards it in full view. Gun extended I realized well within range it wasn't going anywhere about a metre from the end of my gun it slowly and calmly turned upwards prone in the water. Being so close I shot it in the sweet spot on the back of its head instantly killing it - i was left amazed that i could swim up to and in full view of a snapper this size.
