Took advantage of the good weather last week and hit my favourite snapper snooping spot on the northern shores of Waiheke. Viz was marginal and my usual never fail spots were devoid of snapper. Gave up and hit an old cray spot of mine with obvious success. The largest being 2.1kgs was dwarfed by an absolute monster that I couldn't get (I may need to talk to Mike @ Ocean hunter re a noose). It was the biggest red I have ever seen and I will be back to catch it, weigh and photo before returning to it's hole, as it would be a shame to one that size. - Navy Seal
