| Matauri Bay - southern islands produced three snapper to 4kg, and spooked a boary on the southern weedlines. Northern end - brilliant vis, swam with schools of kingies and baitfish. Taheke Reef, swam the 15m plate - the boys had a mako jump up out of the drink and thresher sharks the day before - didn't see any on my dive among the fields of trevally and kahawai. Picked up a couple of pink mao mao (love em') and a kingie at 15kg. This snapper above was picked up on a Matauri coastal session. Snapper everywhere, just drifting, no kicking, watching snapper swarm, found this one below a ledge. Missed a munter about 10m away from the surface with the 1.5m gun. Awesome dive, good to be snooping again - Snoop |
