Craysea2 my Perception Swing Kayak can handle big surf - she certainly did this morning "oh my gosh" was all I could say when a 1.5m wave raised up in front of me on the first stretch from Pauanui Beach. Aimed straight ahead and punched up and over. Then the second one came through - "help..." made it through. Love that yak! Paddled to Slipper - plenty of juvenile trevs and baitfish on the weedlines, no boaries or dories. Slotted this 3.6kg on the trip between Penguin and Rabbit. My snapper hole had funnily enough snapper in it, but smallies, but the exposed NE swell ruled out the snoop. Checked out The Watchman, but nothing happening on the weedline. All in all, a great day, and pleased that the Slipper Trip is doable - Snoop
