Finally a break in the weather after what seemed like months of constant rain! Shot out for a quick shore dive off one of Waihekes northern beaches. This spot always seems to fire and again, it is a case of spear at your feet first. Viz was marginal so ended up burleying a favourite spot creeping back I was surprised to see a nice 3kg fish, I carefully lined it up only to see this big boy come in and sit over the burley. A quick well placed shot down through the back of the head and it was obviously fish for dinner. I played cat and mouse with the 3kg fish for a while then headed back in. I certainly had enough for a feed and my wetsuit is not as warm as it used to be. Looks like I might have to visit Mike at Ocean hunter for a replacement... - Navy Seal
